I accidentally washed my car keys.
I have a 2010 corolla because I am a boring person and wanted a reliable car.

does the key fob have a chip that acts as a security feature, so it won't start if the rest of the fob is fried? Can I just still use it manually? I can live without the panic button / remote unlock/lock and opening the trunk with the fob, but if it won't start the car anymore then thats more of an issue.

how fucked am I?

rude. I live in a rural area and theres no public transportation. biking to work isn't an option for me because of the place I live and because Ive been failed by city planning and underfunded and nonexistent public transport. No trains, or lightrail or anything, busses are absolute shit and nothing is out where I am, no bikepaths anything and sharing the road with cars would get me killed. I have to take the freeway to work anyway. Im not going to spend an extra 4 hours getting to and from work every day.

probably. if your key doesn't work go to the nearest dealership and have them program a key for you.
