>>1852640It's very hard to put a value on something like that from a small picture.
Columbus tubing right? What though.
7spd XT is great spec, but how good condition is it? How much slop does the rear derailer have, what wear on the chainrings, on the pulleys? It's not thumbies right, it's STI, that's worse, how is the shifting?
What conditon are teh wheels? that's a big one. Hubs, smooth? Not just spinning from the rim but feeling the axles in your fingers. How worn out are the brake tracks? Are they nicked at all, are they turning concave, do they have wear indicators? How do the spokes feel? All roughly the same tension? Are the wheels true? What's the tire spec? Some new cheap shit with reflective sidewalls? What are those even?
You can tell this is a rebuilt, pedals, grips, brooks. But how well has it been done? The rear brake cable loop is far too long which tells me again, noob build. For oldschool cantis im always gonna be lookin to see for kool stops. Nope, so either cheap build, or idiot.
It's probably a pretty damn nice bike. It's got mid-fork bosses if you wanted to tour on it. The price? Naw. Just a guess. Just a guess on condition/quality. The guy probably wants back what he put into it, or even more, but it's not worth that. What he would take is another story,. A bike like that, you can go and check out, and offer like, 300. Maybe even take the cash with you. If you like it, or you can actually tell the condition is fantastic, you could pay clsoer to what he wants. But often people do need money and will take it when it's there.
Just personally, I don't like the look of it. For a number of reasons.
