Flying car - how much would you pay?

No.1855687 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Let’s say that I’ve made a concept for a flying-car-esque vehicle (pic not rel).
Being a quadrocopter, it can take off vertically and would take no more than 2 euro sized parking spaces to land (for a typical model taking 4-5 people onboard, along with about 400 pounds cargo on top of people’s weight).
Range of at least 500 miles, uses premium car gas (I won’t discuss how the issue of controlling the multi rotor is solved with ice propulsion, it is the main point of this design that it is while keeping it simple).
Cruise speed of 150-200 mph, typically at about 3 500 feet (mind you, it isn’t bound by traffic like a car is).
Safety would be higher than a heli and it would be much easier to pilot - it would be pretty similar to small multi rotor drones in the way it controls. Definitely all weather, being at least as independent as small general aviation fixed wing aircraft in that regard.
Fuel consumption would be about the same as a large suv distance-wise. General maintenance costs would be similar to a premium German car (talking regular, not top of the line models).

The point is - how much do you think a mid-spec (comparable to a typical car when it comes to interior quality and such) one should be priced at? How much would you (or people you know) pay for such kind of vehicle? Would you find it usable or for some reason would prefer a car?

Just to be clear - I do not wish to discuss technical stuff - I want to keep these secret for now if I ever decide to go trough with this thing. I merely want to get into know if something like this would even have a market and if so - if the price people would pay for it would allow for a profit over manufacturing costs.
