That's over engineered for a fucking E-scooter, why do they always build them (even E-bikes) with massive steel tubes? Is it to justify the price? There are modified racing bikes that receive batteries and engines in the original frame and it works just fine.

Dunno what it's like where you live, but here they need the pedals and have to have a limited top speed so it can be classed as a bike, otherwise its a moped and you need a licence for that.

Many, many years a go you could buy ones which had a tiny 2-stroke engine in instead of batteries and an electric motor, same situation though. They had pedals so you didn't have to get a licence to ride one on the street.

No, I want to ride a bike with some electric assist to make it a little easier.
I don't want to ride a bike at 45mph. I want to ride one at 20mph without dying of exhaustion.
E-bikes are tremendously helpful for extending your range, dealing with hills, and accelerating up to speed after a stop.

I have a license and insurance anyways because I have a car for rare situations where I need to drive.
