What the urbanists and "Ban cars" folks don't realize is that, while brutal, the car-dominated environments of American suburbs are the ideal social darwinist breeding ground of a Nietzschean Übermensch type figure - the Ultimate Cyclist. My life is essentially a permadeath game of Frogger with no pause button. And it has essentially turned me into a god among men. Basically Ultra Instinct in real life, I can detect drunk drivers instantly, miles away, through secret senses those Ford-worshipping fools would never comprehend. Many of us may die, perhaps one day myself, but American road cyclists are on the path to apotheosis. Europoors could never.

For 15 years I rode as if nothing mattered. But lately I've been trying to be more careful. Bicycling has been getting more and more dangerous and it is not "catching on" in America. The streets were never safe and now they are even more dangerous there are less cyclists, less competent riders in general.
