>>1873423I mean that’s not 100% true. I don’t live in Texas, I live in Kansas, and there’s multiple paved civil airports near my house that are way more convenient than the main city airport and have the capacity for small jets;
I think the reason why they’re not widely used is that there simply just isnt enough demand for commercial service.
Running an airline is not cheap, and you need a base of like 150k people to offer even the most basic flights, and thanks to the regulations it’s not like they could have less than 3-4 flights a week. Multiple airports for small cities simply doesn’t make money for airlines, hence no service
