Combine the nose section and wings of the 747, the cabin and roof of the 787, and the cabin and cargo bay of the 777X, with two massive (minimum 13-foot fan), high-bypass (at least 12:1, maybe 15:1), high-thrust (150,000 lbf or so), high-pressure (75:1 or 80:1) engines, having the Holy Grail of aircraft range - 12,500 miles.
This is what Boeing should do for a 797. (It could also be manufactured as a freighter with a potential payload capacity of around 200 tons)
If Boeing can do this and be successful with it, Airbus will have to rush a two-engined version of their A380 into production. Maybe then they'll know firsthand what Boeing went through when Airbus rolled out the A320neo.
