I'm an American and a helicopter pilot. I would like to live abroad. This is a stretch, but does anyone know of countries that regularly hire helicopter pilots, and pay decently. 2500hrs and a fair about of long line. Mostly 407 and R22/44. CFII-H.

Abroad? In that case maybe I'll stuck around rotary wing jobs are very easy to find in the US right now. Many companies have lowered their hourly requirements for hiring.

Buy your own bird in the US, then take it abroad and operate your own independent company doing whatever you want to.

N-number whirlybirds are highly, highly desirable overseas because they can basically fly without restriction or extra paperwork in most countries. They're also much more rare since it's tougher to get them there. If your company idea fails, you can likely sell the bird for more than you bought it for.

Lots of work for heli pilots in the oil and gas sector in the UK, but I have no idea what the pay is like and I presume you need additional certification for flying over the sea.

You got an ATP or CPL? I have a buddy who did tuna boat shit out of the Philippines or something for a number of years after retiring from being a rodeo clown. Like any normal person, he stopped doing that shit and now he’s a 737 Capt for a bargain bin freight job in the US. Get your helo ATP before going expat, you’re a CFII, you’ve got the balls.
