The only things easy to sell were sub $100 poorfag bikes, actually, sub $50, and over $500 meme tier exotics. The sensible mid-priced bike with a new chain, cables, grips and nice tires etc, ie, what everyone should ride, was a hard sell and i typically lose money on them.
People either have no money or they're obsessed and want the best (or, an e-bike). The same thing is evident in bike shops where even good 9spd marin/kona hybrids just languish.
