Pneumatic tires balance stress by moving pressure at the point of contact to the whole wheel, that's why it's difficult to beat the strength of the pneumatic tire and until we can find a material that emulates that, I don't think pneumatic tires will be replaced. Spring tires like pictured in OP comes close but stress is still mostly localized to the point of contact.
