Friendly reminder that the Canadians under the Avro aircraft manufacturing brand built two UFO looking aircraft back in the late 1950s with serious intent for widespread use. The furthest they got was to pitch it to the US Army and US Air Force as a sort of "flying jeep". As you can imagine, it was absolute garbage but it was still a pinnacle of Canadian engineering and introduced to the world one of the silliest aircraft concepts ever.
