You can do some basic fuckin math and determine what the sight distance is, what the closure speed is, and how likely you are to actually delay anybody. I'll give you a hint, it's not likely. You can see and acknowledge each others existence and then react, long before they have to slow down.
But it's not the point -- the point is that, your safety and your bodily integrity is worth more than 0.01sec of some commuter's time.
