Post experiences about rail replacement services in your country or city.
Currently in Hamburg, the lines U2 and U4, that share the eastern section, are currently closed for preparation works to extend the U4, causing a replacement service. I am positively surprised at how well the replacement buses run. Previously you would have one bus replacing one metro train which was of course not feasible at all, but now there are six to seven buses running every ten minutes and some buses even have space enough so only few people would have to stand.
How does your country handle rail replacements? I would like to know especially from Londoners, since they seem to have extensive weekend closures every week.
