Anons here are actually right. Sure you CAN stand still on the bike. But when you have to put down the power needed to climb it will get hard to balance at ridiculously low speeds. On top of that there is a point where walking and pushing or carrying your bike up that hill becomes more efficient and faster than trying to pedal.

4-5km/h is walking pace. Probably more like 2-3km/h pushing a loaded bike up a steep gravel climb in spds.

So you're going 2-3 times as fast riding than walking.

yes or with a straight top tube but generally similar ("opa fiets"/grandpa bike). they really suck, they might weigh 20+ kg and might have a shitty internal gear hub or singlespeed drivetrain with a really basic rim brake or drum brake in the front and a coaster brake in the rear (or no front bake, just the coaster brake is legal in my country). they're slow and not comfortable for longer rides.

I must admit the lack of a crossbar is preferable to me. Call me a wuss but I would hate lifting my leg over every time I need to ride (and if I have a bag at the rear storage rack, I would hit it with my foot if I'm not careful). And it looks like it prevents upskirt pantyshots since a skirt will drop down more naturally, if you're into that. I suppose if it's made with lighter materials it would make more sense. Maybe it's popular because it's cheap?

the shape isn't as important cause aerodynamics are mostly hindered by the rider anyway.

it's a titanium bottle cage with a stainless steel bottle so you will get galvanic corrosion, plus theyre double wall insulated which is great for the hot drinks theyre intended to carry but for water you lose a lot of volume and cant even heat them up if youre camping out on the trails. think i will hang onto my kleankanteen 40oz that i got used. it's alright but the wide-mouth version i have isnt wide enough to stick my hand in when i'm cleaning it, though it is wide enough that i can use a regular washing up brush rather than a bottle brush. also before i got it i thought i had read somewhere that KK bottles use some special metalworking technique to create a metal-metal seal, removing the need for a plastic gasket, but i think i confused that with a pressure canner i wanted because they have a silicone gasket which sort of defeats the point of having an all-metal bottle somewhat. also they dont do a sports cap for the wide mouth versions, only the shit narrow mouth ones. it's not perfect but it's probably going to be my last water bottle ever unless they or someone like them can come out with a bottle that addresses these issues

i know it's not the most expensive that's why i said up to $20k as a reasonable range for a pre-built bike. it's a mainstream brand that's based in the US and is not considered to be terribly overpriced for the quality that you get. there are other bikes like colnago c68 but the price is in euros and they're self aware about how much of a "luxury" bike it is

i'm really on the fence about touring with fenders
it's so easy to knock/damage them in transport or if you put the bike down
they can be a real liability
and if you get fucked on a muddy route they clog and are awful

Then again i've had days, weeks, on tour, longing for them
