sram shifter with a shimano derailleur?

im sorry for my autism but i reaaally want to use a sram grip shifter with my rapid rise derailleur
both are 9 speed
my current derailleur is an rdm760 although ive spotted an m970 im heavily considering
anyway i hear shimano and sram use different pull ratios?
i cant find much info about this in regards to 9 speed though
is this gonna work?

sheldon brown has a page about cable pull. long story short- it shouldn't work as-is, but there are ways to adapt cable pull.

so is the shimano and sram cable pull the same for 9 speed?
if so im gonna go for it an hope for the best
this would be a fuckin sweeeet set up if it works

well the cassettes are basically identical so thats promising
i cant really find any info about mixing sram and shimano derailiers and shifters specifically but it sounds like they will probably work so im gonna go for it
quite exited because i really liked my 7 speed sram gripshifters i had as a kid and didnt undersand why gripshifters are so hated till i tried shimano ones
i think this will be fuckin sweet with a rapid rise
