That's only true in the USA where supply is restricted by boomers lmao. Berlin and Tokyo are insanely affordable for cities of their caliber. European dense cities are very cheap and normal people can live there

US governments generally don't have a hateboners for cars, so people who don't financially need to use public transportation mostly don't. Therefore public transportation is primarily for poor people, and poverty strongly correlates with cultural enrichment.
