It blows my mind that a city with 8m+ inhabitants just outright decided to say fuck trains and trams and just went all in for buses and an assload of bike lanes.
When they finally decide to build a metro like they should have done 5 decades ago they decide to make it underground, then switch it to elevated at the last moment because it was cheaper and quicker, then proceeded to realize they had fucked up and now are scrambling to make at least a part of it underground with hugeass overcosts.
A city consistently ranking among the most congested places on earth, a country where they came up with this peculiar measure of forbidding people from taking their cars out 3 out of 7 days every week to deal with congestion because they literally couldn't come up with anything else, a place where everyone is accostumed to taking 4+ hours a day commuting in overcrowded buses full of angry people, street sellers, beggars playing their makelele guitars for coins and the like.

Where do they go from here? Is there any way to unfuck it? Should they go full Indonesia and build a new capital from scratch?
