What's the deal with cities and these useless short distance tram/streetcar routes?
You can literally bike from one end of the route to the other in 10-15 minutes, and the area already has decent bike lane coverage and wide sidewalks. Hell, you could walk the route in well under an hour.
It can't even really collect from residential areas and ferry people towards the uni campus, anyone living near one of those stops is already within easy walking distance to the campus, no reason to bother with a tram.
