Does anyone else think Manhattan should have
1. Bike lanes on BOTH SIDES of some of the avenues, and
2. More bike lanes in the cross streets
You could put the cross street bike lanes at regular intervals so most of them are still for cages, but getting across lower Manhattan is pretty damn treacherous.
And when I bike up and down the avenues, I can clearly see more people traveling by bike than car. Some of the avenues are plenty wide enough to allow for a bike lane on both sides. It’s just annoying that most of the bike lanes are one-way, and you have to go across several lanes of traffic to get to the bike lane.
