Are DT Swiss hubs worth it?

No.1906861 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
At first I didn't want to go with the cheaper Shimano cup and cone hubs because I thought the maintenance and its frequency would be a hassle, but I just did a C&C overhaul for the first time on my current bicycle and I realized it isn't that bad.

Still, sealed cartridge hubs offer well known advantages and I will probably buy a DT 350 front hub for my new build, but while I was looking at the maintenance videos for the rear DT 350 hubs I saw a multitude of comments complaining about the "stupid" ring nut design and how difficult it can be to remove it. Some said, DT Swiss included, that sometimes you need 2 or 3 people to remove the stupid thing. One guy even mentioned he broke his shop vise in the process... kek

Other than that I don't think there are other cartridge bearing hubs alternatives at this price range that come close to DT Swiss quality and practicality (ignoring the retarded design flaw I just mentioned).
Anyone here has any experience with DT Hubs? What are your thoughts?
Is "go with the good ol' Shimano C&C" the consensus here?
