It's 2043. Through advances in technology, flying is now a cheap, safe and efficient form of transport, with self-driving drone taxis being able to take you from your home to any destination at 300 km/h for the cost in bus tickets (possibly with taxpayer support). Taxis would be operational 24/7 and optimize their routes relative to other passengers and availability, cargo could be delivered via dedicated drones, whether you want a new ikea table or want to send your pocket lint to your friend the next city over. Roads still exist due to legacy and trucking, but they are becoming more and more irrelevant by the day. Even noise pollution is mild, thanks to more efficient propellers and lifts that can load passengers without descending.
What would the societal impact be of such a technology?
