That said, there's no service on this map whatsoever to several major points in the country in the desert and in the midwest/south. I would add a line from LA through vegas, not sure where it should end but would make sense to terminate in st louis or chicago or dallas. Would also add lines to connect from Miami upward and into the rest of the gulf and to DC and the rest of the east (run it along the coast so you can get to beach towns up and down the east easily).
Also, the Rushmore thing is poetic, but SD really doesn't deserve a major hub or crossing point of lines. Let it be a stopping point and run the one up north from texas through to minneapolis.
