those preacher guys are always deeply broken people, they use the train as free therapy yelling about how we're all cheaters and wife beaters and junkies and low lives just like he was until he was saved (by being in prison and having nothing better to do than read the bible)
they have no friends, their families avoid them, they can't hang out with their old gang banger pals, so they go and harangue people who are trying to read or listen to a podcast or learn some new phrases in a foreign lannguage with the duolingo app, because they NEED to insert their religious nonsense into everyone else's personal time. they are literally stealing everyone's personal time and hiding behind some bible verses, and anyone who calls them out and shames them is going to be smiled upon by god
