I recently stumbled across aerial views of some american citys and felt really uncomfortable even looking at them. Do some of you anons really live in this hell?
I thank god every day that i live in a rural city in europe and not in one of those dystopian horrors.

this is what happens when millions of people move into a city not designed for sudden change.

the problem is not "single family homes" the problem is with zoning that separates commercial and residential. of course zoning is necessary to separate industrial from the rest - we don't want factories of shit polluting neighborhoods, but a small market on the corner of a residential neighborhood would improve quality of life

of course you must ensure homeless and junkies dont congregate around the store like at gas stations. this is probably one of the things that fucked over well-designed cities like Baltimore......we all know the other thing that ruined baltimore

Op here, your pic is pretty similar to my village.
Something deep inside of me is scared of those dystopian megacitys. You are just a number in a giant pile of humans. Every road is essentially the same.
I know this might sound autistic but i imagine that it might just feel wrong to live there.
I know nearly everyone by name in my city. Many are friends and the culture and ethics make me just feel at home and safe.
I cant imagine that you would feel the same in a multiracial and soulless megacity

Lmao that town houses maybe 200 people, meanwhile for every one of these quaint countryside villages there's 20,000 more people living in shitty shoebox apartments in a city somewhere. The average European doesn't live like that, and Americans are vastly more likely to own a single-family home.
People who think everyone should live in an urban podtower just so they can walk to the grocery in 5 minutes instead of driving there in 10 are baffling. I'll take the property ownership and extra 1500sqft of space over saving 20 minutes a week lol
