>>1917484I replaced both of my tires with tannus solid tires. After riding on them for 6 months here are the basics.
Pros
1. Impossible to make flat
2. Traction is fine, doesn't feel any different compared to a tire when trying to get going or when braking heavily
3. Does okay in the wet
4. No difference in weight
Cons
1. Takes all of the suspension out of the wheel itself. I had to add a suspension seat post and a sprung seat to make up the difference in comfort
2. Sidewall traction becomes non-existent because the tire is no longer pliable. This will make either wheel get pushed around by seams and cracks in the surface you're one more than you would expect. At first I thought my rear wheel was misaligned, or that my seat was rotating in place, but it was a matter of not having any sideways traction.
3. Terrible handling on gravel due to no tread depth.
4. They're rather unpleasant to install.
I need to replace the front wheel now and will probably just switch to a double-wall inner tube or other armored inner tube instead.
>>1918351>on road there is no differenceI found this no to be the case. They feel really different. Maybe you have a frame with suspension and can't tell? Mine has none so the ride became very harsh.
