I don't think these will ever come to fruition because they seem to add a lot of weight and don't seem to offer much more in the way of seating capacity. It's an added complication for people with disabilities too, no matter how much warning you give them on a website when booking.

I like the idea actually, reminds me of those duplex sleepers they had on trains in the 40s. Just too complicated for airline use because of the weight, boarding, and emergency escape problems that would need to be fixed.

I suspect the purpose is to basically market them to retards with too much money for their own good. You tell them it's a "luxury travel experience" in a flashy promotional video and they aren't going to think about the possibility of someone puking on their head or not being able to escape during an emergency. Stick a couple of these on a couple planes, jack the cost of the seats up and the airline can rake in extra money just so some retard like MrBeast can make a Most Expensive Plane Seat! video and invest the income elsewhere.

Top can't stretch legs, has no storage space as the lifevest has to be fitted under the seat.
Bottom can't recline the seat and will bang their hand if they want to lean forward to eat.
Serving food and drinks will be a nightmare. And how do the stairs not spill into the path/ take space away from seating.

Can only imagine these seat in widebody middle seats with max 3 seat rows.
All above points will be horrible for long duration flights.
Fitting 4 seats in the middle row is already being done and makes a lot more sense desu. Still shit though.

I was really hoping these would get implemented. I'd be way more comfortable standing the whole time because I'm not fat or able to sleep in an airplane and my nerves are not cool with my legs not extending for several hours.
