Did BN use different shades of green at various points in their history, or were the mismatches due to being painted at different facilities? Some have more yellow in them and others have more blue.

It's just dirt/sun/passage of time that changes the colours. Well they may have slightly changed shades, but it's usually just from wear and tear.
