How much do you think it would cost to get there from Illinois, USA?

Usually it's a flare up of my IBS that leaves me unable to do much but walk, eat a bit, and sleep. I have a career and can keep the job if I really want to, but with any rainy-day fund it's better to just focus on rehabilitation. Last times it was bad it was bad for months.
Transporting myself around the world for the sake of it actually seems like a good use of my time then.

Eh, at least I have the option of taking hiatus.
Never really looked into ship transport, but if that's cheaper than a flight I can get a bunch of books and take a ship over. After that I assume I just get some universal pass, see the UK through rails, then come back.
While I have more than $1000, it's just the case I have a lot of time to kill and it's good for me to save.
