Lets say hypothetically we accept climate change and therefor the necessity for climate action. You might disagree but that's the hypothetical position, and it's what I think and if you just accept it for one second then you can understand the rest of it.
That means we have to move away from the automobile. The reality is that will impact people's lives terribly, especially poorer people, and especially in a transition state. That's the truth, it's going to really really suck for a lot of people.
A dual reality exists where it's possible to improve people's wellbeing and construct a better world. Both things are true.
We have to focus on the second thing. The first thing is a reason not to make the changes, but we've already agreed, the changes are necessary. This is by definition then propaganda, but it's also not without truth to it.
Basically it's better to create idealism and hope rather than drag people kicking and screaming.
