940 is better than a 240 in every way.
Better suspension, better ergonomics, engine, etc. Even better if it has a turbo. Still needs serious work to be reliable and/or fun.
If you really think a late 240 is a good car you're a a moron. You probably don't even own one and have no idea what it's like. They all have massive milage and are fucked to bits.
I have ridden in most of the old Volvos and never felt particularly intrigued.
I had an S60 a few years ago, that car was way better than those boaty dinosaurs in every possible way, except muh iron block and muh rwd.
If you really care about longevity and durability Toyota is the only choice.
