>>1923340Everything goes wrong with rails. Just look at the honolulu rail project and it's less than 15 miles long. It just opened for use last week.
-They had to cut the line short by almost 1/3rd because of poorly planned out routes the line running into crucial infrastructure entering the main city near the airport.
-Pissed off the entire state by building over burial sites.
-Support pillars are already cracking and it just opened
-Later found out they bought the wrong type of rails and wheels for the east side of the line
-Cost blew up to nearly 20 billion for only about 15 miles of rail
-A lot of the money went "missing" throughout the project and is still unaccounted for
-West side of the rail has no parking so people are parking on the grass, sidewalks, bike lanes, and no parking zones
-No toilets anywhere on the stop
-Took over 10 years just to get the tracks to town and no estimated date now for completion of the rest
Not even the worst of it if you look up the articles. Japan was going to build a high speed rail for Oahu going around the entire island in the 80s to help with tourism and the jews in charge denied it. Now we have something half functional with a still growing cost because it's not even done. They only opened early because people were shitting on the project so hard. Look at the map in pic, and it stopped at around the airport.
