I'm going first class LNER from London to Edinburgh. What am I in for?

I've used EuroStar before (to Brussels and to Paris). The Paris train was better than the Brussels one, Brussels train was a bit dirty. The terminals are very disorganized and it's like a running of the bull when a train boards, not sure why they can't have a more organized boarding.

Lner first class is a joke, paid £120 and they refused to give me more than 2 small cans of coke (between London and Edi) and some grim sandwich. Alcohol is a joke, wouldn't serve me anymore than one bottle. Go standard class and bring your own food, far better

Good to know. I was hoping it would be at least as good as EuroStar because I'm bringing my dad and he is older, so, nice to make things comfier for him.

I'll for sure bring some water :/ Really borderline on if it's better to fly to Scottland but Heathrow is such a shitshow these days it's hard to go unless you really have to. I flew to Dublin recently and about hot strip searched through security and they stole some old ladies cough medicine.

The trains decent if you're going in the week, avoid the peak times and try and get a 4 person table and you should get enough legroom. I wouldn't bother flying when you factor in the tram, tube etc

GWR First Class is great. Alright coffee - not the Bovril-y water you get on XC. Food is good, and is themed: instead of just some random biscuits or cookies you get on, again, XC, it nice bits like ‘West Country cake’. Staff are pleasant, as well, and unlike XC cunts don’t treat you like shit or just ignore you while they go gossip in the galley. Last GWR trip the attendant had this awesome Victorian-like moustache, had a nice conversation and lemme know what services back would be fully attended and promised if I was on his return to load me up on said cake.

idk what you did to piss them off but I've had great times on them between London and York. Happily give me enough drinks to get me there and back, and if I ask politely they give me a few bottles of water for the road. Plenty of snacks.
