I used to work in downtown DC by G and 14th.
I lived in Arlington between Ballston and Virginia Square station. Commute time was 25 ish minutes door to door.
Moved to Waterfront and commute was still about 25 ish minutes with transfers.
I visited Alexandria and that was a much more car centric area with less residential areas near the metro stations so I think that might skew it.
