If you were to make the most bombproof expedition touring bike, what would it look like? Here's my idea:
>Frame-Large diameter ovalized thick walled Reynolds 853 tubings (or 4130 Chromoly if you want it to be easier to repair)
-Thick ED coat inside & out + generous amount of fluid film
-Minimize holes to the frame as much as possible in order to avoid weakening the frame and prevent water ingress
-Fillet braized/lugs to make repairs easier and puts less stress on the tubing
>Wheels, brakes and shifters-27.5" Ryde Andra wheels for better durability than 29"
-Tire insert like Cushcore
-Ebike rated tires like Schwalbe pick up 27.5x2.6" tires for road, packed gravel and dirt
-TRP Spyre would have been my choice for brakes but I heard the pad adjustment screw is not indexed and loosen up over time making it more prone to brake failure so my 2nd choic would be the TRP HY/RD brakes for convinience and reliability
-200mm brake rotors for maximum stopping power and heat dissipation
-Friction shifters like Genavelle or Microshift but there's also the upcoming Growtac equal control lever that also looks promising
-SON 28 dyno hub
>Powertrain-Rolhoff belt drive or 1x group set
Anything else to make it more bombproof?
