In my town they picked a very low traffic road and made a special bike lane sidewalk. This took up a lane and a half. They also screwed up the left turn lane which helped keep it flowing. They also put some traffic calming curbs in the driveway to my commie block.
I have never seen anyone on a bike on it. They all still ride in the street or just not at all. I can go weeks without seeing a bike at all.
They spent like $20 million on it or something. It's almost impossible for the utility companies to access their lines anymore because the city didn't build the concrete thick enough to support a normal truck that needs to park their occasionally to work on the power and cable lines
Instead they need the double special extra reach truck and they don't have many ofnthose.
