ive honestly thought about getting not a motorcycle but maybe a vespa type scooter or something. hell my bike isnt even an ebike or even a pedal assist. its just a 17 year old aluminum road bike.

You're honestly better off. People drive like complete idiots, and the total cost of ownership for a car is high. Plus with ride sharing and focus on transit options there's never been a better time to be car free, so don't sweat it.

the cost of ownership is a problem especially now. i have heard how absolutely insane the car market still is since covid with ridiculous prices being asked for used cars. the only car i would want is some 10+ year old shitbox honda civic or similar japanese sedan, but then you have that, ridiculous gas prices, insurance prices, maintenance costs.

im in the bay area which for all people trash on transit, the subway system plus bike combo is actually quite helpful in getting me around at least for my autistic ass.

I sold my car because among other things I didn't enjoy driving and it gave me mad anxiety. Like freeway driving is fine cause everyone is just going in the same direction, but city driving you have to deal with drunk meth heads and you're always tense. I'm very fortunate to live somewhere with good public transport, and also to have no friends so I don't actually need to go out.

I'm OP, I don't hate cars at all. I hate that I'm too mentally ill to drive one apparently. But some of the anti-car rhetoric I do understand, it does kind of suck to have to be forced to deal with the expense of owning a car
