cycle slowly into the wind while you warm up your knees and check the paths condition, then go absolutely max speed on the way home with a tail wind
or pick a route where you go high speed right away with a tail wind and hope the path is as normal, then slowly bike home with a nice breeze to cool you

I usually ride side roads but I do get a little zany trying to hit 75km-100km doing loops. People in my city have no idea how to handle cyclists either. I would be rich as fuck if I got a dime everytime I stop at a 4 way and there's a car parking on the other side because he literally does not know how right of way works.
