the top speed of 89 is just the free spin speed, the most reasonable top functional speed is at 85% PWM so more like 72
anyway there's a reason the 18" offroad segment has exploded in popularity and manufacturer competition and its because no one really rides these things faster than 40

Im an electrician and chinese circuit boards or really any circuit boards are ticking timebombs. I even had mixers and dishwashers for repairs which just did catch on fire because some small part died. There are thousands of ways a circuit can fail at any time and thats why vehicles need a failsafe in form of a second wheel, brakes and so on. A redundant system is not enough. You need a way to stop without the electric system.
Ride safe anons, personally i wouldnt ride such a thing over maybe 20mph. And only in full motorcycle gear.

I would test ride at moderate speed for a little bit then take it apart for parts to build something I would prefer to actually regularly use.

You can put a higher wattage front hub and a larger battery on an electric Brompton or just buy a regular Brompton and convert it yourself.

Also the Brompton doesn't kill you when you go over a bump, has actual brakes, and is still useful if you run out of battery.

I think the unicycle looks stupid but definitely not gay. Try going through the Bronx and see what the melanated individuals do with the unicycles, speeding through traffic and going on the highway with a blatant disregard for their own lives. The quality control doesnt matter anon.
Transistors or chips can have internal damage which can fry the part at any time. Thats why i find these things so dangerous. Same with EV's or ride by wire steering. You can have the best lab and test things 1000x and then some shitty resistor blows up.

While a v13 can go 56, it's not going 89 in any sort of real condition with the unlock...I'll also add that recent inmotion wheels are pretty much garbage. If you want a massive cruiser wheel, the master pro is it. I have 5 wheels ranging from 14" to 20", and the 16/18 category is most fun at speed imo. There's too much gyro effect on a large wheel to be super nimble when going 45-50. Efficiency drops off exponentially at the upper end. Eg. you'll double the range going 30 as you would going 50, especially if standing due to wind resistance.

Kingswong has its usual "15mph limit unitl you ride 100km", but its unlocked just by riding these100km.

Ghost acceleration where no matter how hard you lean back the wheel keeps accelerating is probably the worst problem to have....yes....Begode wins every single race be it on or off-road and some inmotion has the real performance....lmao

I'll admit a new rider getting used to riding in the street with cars is at high risk, but an experienced one can accel/brake as fast as at least some of the older cars you see on the road, and so you learn to just give yourself whatever distance you need just like when you're driving a clunker. Being tiny, you also have a lot more swerve options
