for regular planes its actually very common for remote mountain runways to be a steep uphill landing and downhill takeoff
as for the carrier catapault there are land based ones used for training but they dont really make sense outside of that because they put so much stress on the aircraft which also has to be designed to be able to survive that kind of force
there just isnt rly a practical use for it

and thats assuming it doesnt catch any lift
theres a sailplane called perlan 2 that flies almost that high and rides stratospheric waves so yeahh this maybe isnt as retarded as it might seem
