Trikes are cool but it would be harder to dodge pedestrians and fit through smaller gaps.
OTOH would be better for towing.

they are expensive for what they are
but with a disability (e.g. disabled arm) they really have their place

Tadpole trikes are better.
I would still suck a dick if it meant I'm getting a Snöek or a Quatrevelo. Diven the hilly nature of my city adding e-assist is a no brainer.

Pic is my current recumbent bike, got it for 350 bucks and invested another 150 in fixes.

How important is it to have rear suspension on a recumbent? I've been wanting a tadpole trike too, but I don't know if I should be looking at models with or without suspension.

I only ever rode with rear suspension, but personally I wouldn't buy one without it unless it for competing. I wouldn't want to know how it feels to ride on cobblestone without suspension, your back takes a beating is my guess.

Benefit of 2 wheels is you can ride within a vehicle tire track. A tricycle on single / double track would be unusable if the ruts had any depth or there was loose material outside the rut.

A recumbent with rear suspension is harsher on larger bumps than a road bike without suspension. On an upright you shift your bodyweight naturally when you're going over bumps. On a recumbent, you can't do that.

My uncle used to have a farm trike he'd ride around the property on. I rode it a few times - they don't have great steering, are relatively unstable and are just generally less capable than a quad.

You can however very easily get the back end moving on a trike, and for that reason they are cool.
