Why would anyone in their right mind oppose public transport?
It takes cars off the road so traffic flows smoother for car drivers.
If you're really anti-city and you insist on driving everywhere, you should want cities to be as dense and walkable as possible because it means less traffic for you in the suburbs. You're (supposedly) not going into the city anyway.
