My strategy is to have a bike not worth stealing, and then lock it up next to nicer bikes. It's an old dept store bike with a giving milk crate tied to the handlebars. Bought used in the lower double digits, mismatched wheels, shitty rusted up stamped steel v brakes, shitty paint job, rusty handlebars, rusty frame, etc...
