>>1970275It would but at the same time you would be limited in fuel economy. Jet engines are powerful and / contrary to what a commenter here said / are perfectly good at changing RPM. Problem is, that they really guzzle fuel. Also there are concentrated and hot exhaust gases. The osprey with its cumbersome, large rotors has a LOT of problems with dirt and dusty environments, but it would be a LOT worse is it were fitted with jet engines.
