I own several carbon bikes and change them out like every 3 years.
Its a cool material but as you said, i wouldnt ride carbon more than like 5 seasons.
It has many benefits but it comes with a price. If you're too poor to afford it stay out thats it. Nothing wrong with cheaper materials.
