>>1988335If you think painting a busy road with a bike lane is good bike infrastructure you simply very stupid.
Ill try and explain all the problems with:
>>19883001: There is a parking lane right of the bike lane. As a cyclist you must worry about cars randomly entering and exiting the bike lane. (could be solved by protecting the bike lane and making cars park somewhere else )
2:Cars randomly swerve into bike lanes even when they aren't attempting to park. (could be solved by protecting the bike lane)
3: Cyclists must worry about cars truing right at every intersection. In any collision the cyclist loses.
4: loud, car exhaust filled roads are not pleasant to bike on. (could be solved by separating the bike lane from the busy road)
5: Snow gets shoved in the bike lane when its on the side of the road like this (could be solved by separating the bike lane or protecting it)
6:Cyclists must worry about cars entering and leaving parking lots for shops etc (could be solved by separating the bike lane)
7: Cycle lanes like this constantly end and start to accommodate cars. This is clearly visible in the photo (could be solved by separating the bike lane)
8: Construction blocks the bike lane (could be solved by separating the bike lane from the busy road or protecting it)
Anyway enjoy driving to work to pay for your car.
