>>1983812Bike lanes are literal death traps. Also motoring should simply not be legal unless the motorist has a specific need and couldn't participate in society otherwise, like being an infant, elderly, woman, cripple or otherwise degenerate. The only situation, wherw bike lanes ever come close to being comparable in safety as being on the road is when they run adjacent to a road that is straight and has no sidewalk, intersections, drive ways or other reasons for motorvehicles to enter, exit or turn. In all other cases, like the road taking a turn, especially left in left-side traffic countries, coming to a roundabout or intersection, passing a driveway etc., the bike lane will not only be slighty more dangerous as the above default but pretty much lethal.
Your point regarding it being faster is similarly uninformed. Bike lanes are usually, especially during fair weather and outside of commuting hours, like weekends or around noon and the late evening, absolutely filled with occassional tourists who are dangerously slow and lack bike handling and traffic awareness to begin with, making them being slow even more dangerous. And let's not forget the increasing occurence of slow motorvehicles on bike lanes, now that there is electric motorcycles with pedal cranks as throttle.
Cager detected. Take your propaganda back pls
