>>1984035I have a friend who had a major concussion.
The doctor told them point blank, "under no circumstances get on a bicycle until instructed otherwise." Because being on a bicycle is just a natural risk you fall and hit your head. So much so that's why everyone says to wear a goddamn helmet. You are also much more likely to fall with, you know, a concussion fucking up your sense of balance and shit.
Brain damage is non-linear. Once you have a little, adding a little more has a much, much bigger impact than if it happened to a healthy person.
And the longer time you spend recovering from damage, the more likely you brain develops permanent fuck-ups. It's always rewiring itself to adapt to circumstances, and it will rewire itself to "work around" the damaged areas. Which is a problem since you want those areas to heal and return to normal rather than cut them out of the network.
Always take recovery from a concussion 100% seriously. Take a few days off work entirely, lay in bed in a dark room, and give your brain time to rest.
Did your doctor say "taking it easy" included being at work? Because for most people "taking it easy" means staying home in bed.
