I'll choose the road, bike lane, or sidewalk, depending on which is the most practical at the time. I did almost get ran over in a roundabout the other day, because I got in the middle of the lane so nobody would try to pass me inside the roundabout. Probably should've taken the sidewalk.

If you can't see the car, slow down.
If you can't see it when you are going sub 5mph don't bother riding, just walk across.
There are no pedestrians on my sidewalks, they are all in cars.
The slower I ride the less I want to be in the bike lane. Anything under 10mph is just stupid to be in the bike lane.

Drivers are going to look at the road, not the sidewalk. That’s where the danger for them is. otherwise going on roads 30mph or below is fine, altho the ones by me r just painted gutters that put u right in the door zone so I don't use them if there's anyone parked
