Why would someone ride an e-scooter instead of a bicycle?

cheaper, more portable, faster for less weight, more nimble in tight areas (like cities), an ebike mogs it for transporting stuff long distance but escoot is super convenient and is easy to take on transport too.

Have you ever riden one? Theyre fun.

the scooter I currently own has a real world range of about 30 miles, and is infinitely easier to carry up my 3 flights of stairs. it gets me to and from work in 18 minutes round trip. charges back up to full in 2-3 hours while i'm resting. i'm already at work standing and doing shit for 8 hours, i'd rather this than having to pedal my ass all the way home after a long day.

Physics are weird for escootes.
Stability at low speeds is way higher than on a bicycle. Handling is also better, much more nimble (again at low speeds).
Makes it possible to ride it on sidewalks, which is somewhat hard and annoying to do on the bicycle, while with escooter its doable.

The smaller the wheels, the worse the vehicle behaves on a bad road, but at the same time it has better maneuverability. The wheel motor also does not have a gear system, so it is ineffective when climbing. Escooters are great only for flat cities with good roads to easily maneuver between people. For bad roads with hilly terrain you need an electric bicycle with a bottom bracket motor

I am like 100-120 kg, and shittiest Ninebot ES2 with 300W motor? idk, it pushes no more than 500W on stock firmware I think, it barely climbs hills people have trouble walking up. But I think if I did weight normally, like 70 kg, it would have had no problem.
So dunno, gears arent really necessary in electric motors. What is important are the magnets (which are responsible for max torque in BLDC/PMSM) and power.

I honestly dont know.
But i see a lot of people that probably see the walk to the toilette as a chore using them.
My commuter single speed weighs 7kg, is comfortable for cruises up to 50km+ and i easily get a average speed of 27km/h out of it without really pushing it.
Still convenient to take on transport because of the low weight.
Bonus is that it'll run for the next 10 years without needing a new battery or proprietary wheels.
