If the history of bicycles is rich in one thing, it's every material under the sun having experienced some sort of failure at some point, and carbon is neither a positive nor a negative exception. Carbon frames can fail, but for every cracked carbon frame there's at least one cracked aluminium weld, one bent steel tube or one lugged steel frame that's come apart. Hell, even titanium frames used to have minor infamy for cracked welds.
